Admired as one of France's top ranking post WW-II artists, Zarou was awarded the Silver Medal for Painting by the City of Paris.

Following that prestigeous honor, Zarou was exhibited throughout Europe. In 1975, he was invited to show at the Bibliotheque Nationale.

Like Cezanne and Van Gogh, who also painted the countryside of Southern France, Zarou imbues his images with bright sunlight and the warm golden yellow and burnt orange colors of that region.

When appropriately framed, the works of Zarou project the distinct feel and quality of the old masters.
