Description
Amand-Durand was a noted engraver in his own right during the 19th century. He spent a substantial portion of his life re-creating the plates of all the engravings of Rembrandt. This is plate number B 271 as set forth in the book of Rembrandt’s engravings. The image size is 9 1/2″ X 7″ (53 cm X 43 cm). We have many different images of Rembrandt’s engravings by Amand-Durand and from the standpoint of aesthetic viewing, they are as nice as the best printing of Rembrandt whose first printing was not always his best as he often improved his plate after the first printing. The frame is not in mint condition and there is no charge being included for the frame which we will remove at a buyers request. It is usable but shows some wear from exhibitions.
