Fall of Icarus


Mihail Chemiakin's "THE FALL OF ICARUS" was created as the premier piece in his renowned Metaphysical Series. This is the largest lithograph he has ever produced. The image size is 52? X 37 plus wide margins. This is approximately the equivalent size of 6 of Chemiakin's standard size lithographs. Chemiakin created this lithograph as a composition consisting of 14 gouache paintings.

To create the plates and print this rare masterpiece took over two years. In this lithograph, Chemiakin's intention is to translate his extensive study of the environment and nature, resulting in each of the 14 elements in this composition, signifying a personal interpretation of universal themes.
